A terminal with a cargo turnover of 200 thousand tons per year for container trains will be built in the Omsk region

The Government of the Omsk Region and the Omsk Transport and Logistics Center have signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of investment activities aimed at the implementation of this project.
The purpose of the investment project is to create a transport and logistics center. It is planned to build a terminal that will carry out loading and unloading operations of containers arriving by container trains, with the creation in the future of a network of railway terminals, representing a freight yard, with infrastructure for container turnover and linking to the existing railway station. The implementation of the project will significantly reduce the delivery time of the shipped goods.
“This will speed up the delivery of goods to the Omsk region from large seaports - St. Petersburg and Vladivostok - due to regular container trains and a shift in the volume of delivery of goods from the road network to the railroad,” said Governor Alexander Burkov. Today Omsk ranks first among the cities with a population of over one million in terms of the volume of shipped goods of its own production per each inhabitant. Over the past year, Omsk enterprises shipped goods worth 828 billion rubles, which is 726.4 thousand rubles per one Omsk.
Governor Alexander Burkov signed an Agreement between the Government of the Omsk Region and the initiator of the investment project - Omsk Transport and Logistics Center LLC. The head of the company is Igor Gorozhankin. The parties agreed to join efforts to implement this project in the interests of the socio-economic development of the region. Operational interaction with the initiator of the project is carried out by the Agency for Development and Investments of the Omsk Region.
The investment capacity of the project exceeds 150 million rubles. The objects planned for construction, including a terminal with a cargo turnover of 200,000 tons, are expected to be put into operation no later than 2023.
As a result of the implementation of the investment project, at least 100 new permanent jobs will be created and tax revenues will be provided to the consolidated budget of the Omsk region annually in the amount of at least 50 million rubles.
