200 business events: Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency changes its vector

The Regional Agency for Development and Investment summarizes the results of its work in the field of exhibition, fair and congress activities.

In 2018, the regional Congress Hall hosted events of various levels, from events organized by business structures to international projects.

"Convention and exhibition activities play a significant role in the region, because this area is so important for the Omsk business community. Communication and exchange of experience are the foundations on which the economy of the information age is built. Therefore, forums, exhibitions and festivals are of paramount importance, where entrepreneurs have the opportunity to get to know each other, share experiences and negotiate cooperation. Since 2018, the Agency has begun to change the vector of development of the convention and exhibition activities in the region. 200 business events were held in the regional Congress Hall and other venues of the city. This is 2 times more than in 2017," said Evgeny Kovtun, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.

The list of annual events includes the Omsk IT Forum, the entrepreneurship Forum Svoe Delo – Your Success, the International Forum of Social Entrepreneurs and Investors INNOSIB, as well as the Siberian Agrotechnical Exhibition-Fair AgroOmsk.

"In July, the 16th Siberian Agrotechnical Exhibition and Fair AgroOmsk was held, which was attended by more than 400 companies and resulted in more than 100 contracts for the supply of agricultural machinery, food and equipment. The event brought together about 100,000 residents of Omsk and guests of our city, who were able to get acquainted with the latest Russian and foreign-made equipment, evaluate the development of the livestock industry, and purchase fresh products from agricultural producers," said Evgeny Kovtun, General Director of the Agency.

It should be noted that in 2018, the Agency implemented three new projects: the CIS exhibition and fair "Wealth of Eurasia", the business forum "Business in Omsk is not like Omsk", and the training business show "People of Business".

At the Wealth of Eurasia fair in Omsk, for the first time, representatives of 8 CIS countries: the Republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation presented the culture and traditions of their peoples, as well as dishes of national cuisine and products from manufacturers. The fair was attended by about 10,000 people.

"The Wealth of Eurasia exhibition and Fair has become the main platform for promoting the products of commodity producers of the CIS countries, developing trade and economic cooperation between the Omsk region and the CIS countries, as well as establishing business contacts and familiarizing the population with the culture, traditions, customs and tourist attractiveness of the regions of the Commonwealth of Independent States," Evgeny Kovtun shared.

At the end of June, the first business forum "Business in Omsk is not the Omsk way" was held, where well-known and successful entrepreneurs debunked all the myths that it is impossible to create your own profitable business in Omsk. The largest organized networking event took place within the framework of the forum, which was attended by more than 350 people.

Autumn also became significant for the Agency's activities. A large-scale educational business show "People of Business" took place in the concert hall of the Omsk Philharmonic. This was the first time the event was held in Omsk in this format. The main difference between this project and other business forums is the integration of theater and business education. The speaker of the training show was Ilya Kusakin, a corporate business coach for market leaders such as 1C:The First Bit", furniture factory "March 8", "World Class", author of the book "Sales Efficiency", which became a bestseller in Russia in 2016 among books about sales.

In December, the Agency co-organized the True Story Fest, a large-scale entertainment and business event. Famous entrepreneurs shared unrealistic stories about failures and disappointments on the way to success with Omsk residents.

"The Regional Congress Hall is a platform for the active activity of the Omsk business community, where there is everything necessary to hold business and exhibition events of any level. We invite interested companies to cooperate in the implementation of their own exhibition and congress projects. During 2019, the Agency plans to implement a number of activities that will make it possible to find new partners, strengthen its position, bring a new product to the market, and enhance and strengthen the company's image as a whole," concludes Evgeny Kovtun, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
