Alexander Burkov, Acting Governor of the Omsk Region, and Vadim Chechenko, Minister of Finance of the region, held a working meeting at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. During the dialogue, Leonid Gornin, Deputy Head of the Federal Ministry of Finance, discussed with the regional leadership the prospects for providing the Omsk region with additional funds from the federal budget.
Recall that the Omsk region received 6.6 billion rubles in subsidies for equalizing budget provision for the current year, which exceeds the figures of the previous year. In addition, in November 2017, at a meeting of the Russian Government's commission on regional development, it was decided to allocate the Omsk region in 2018 the maximum possible subsidy for budget balance in the amount of 8.5 billion rubles.
By the decision of the Head of the region, Alexander Burkov, a considerable part of this amount was allocated to the formation of the development budget. This made it possible to increase spending on the region's road fund, repair and equip educational, cultural, and healthcare facilities, as well as provide for investments in economic development.
At the same time, the wage fund of public sector employees in 2018 will grow in the Omsk region by at least 3.8 billion rubles. This will ensure wage growth not only within the framework of the "May" decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, but also for those categories of state employees who were not provided for by the decrees. The region will also fully fulfill expenditure obligations related to a phased increase in the minimum wage - from January 1, 2018 and from May 1, 2018.
"At the working meeting, we were confirmed that the Omsk region can count on additional federal support, since we are conducting a sound financial policy with all the social and economic commitments we have undertaken. This was highly appreciated by the Federal Ministry of Finance," Alexander Burkov noted.
Additional information will be provided on which areas and to what extent funding will be provided to our region.
