Last week, specialists from the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency held a working meeting with developers of innovative technologies from Omsk State Agrarian University named after P.A. Stolypin.
The Agency considers the implementation of projects in the field of biotechnology to be one of the promising areas of investment policy in the Omsk region. Omsk State Agricultural University named after P.A. Stolypin is the undisputed leader of scientific developments in this field in our region.
For example, employees of the Project Planning and Support Department, Head of the department Elena Niyazova and project manager Dmitry Kalachin, discussed possible cooperation options in the field of creating functional food and pharmaceutical products at a working meeting with OmGAU developers of innovative technologies Dmitry Nardin and Natalia Pogorelova.
"Following the meeting, the regional Agency for Development and Investment plans to develop projects for the production of future dressings based on bacterial cellulose, fermented beverages, sorbents, dietary fibers, as well as pectins and food dyes based on pomace from fruit and vegetable raw materials, the production technology of which is currently being investigated by Omsk scientists," said the head of the Department of Planning and project support Elena Niyazova.
It should be noted that these areas are promising. Currently, Russia is only conducting research on bacterial cellulose, which has not yet been certified and, consequently, has not found practical application. Fermented foods, dietary fibers, and sorbents are becoming increasingly in demand in the food industry, as they improve the flavor, antioxidant, dietary, and other beneficial properties of food products and their structure.
