More than 400 students of Omsk universities immersed themselves in the investment "cuisine" of the region

An author's lecture "The role and place of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency in the investment ecosystem of the region" was held in the regional Congress Hall. Over 400 students from leading universities – OmSTU, SibADI, OmGUPS, OmGU, Financial University and OmGAU - attended the event. Future economists, managers, specialists in advertising and PR, innovation, tourism, law, public and municipal administration had a unique opportunity to learn how the investment ecosystem works in the Omsk region.

The organizers set an ambitious goal for themselves: not just to talk about the work of the regional Development and Investment Agency, but to show young people modern digital investor tools, involve them in the real economy of the region and, importantly, begin to form a high-quality talent pool. The speakers of the event were Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, representative of the region to the Government of the Russian Federation, and Svetlana Bazhenova, Director General of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.

"Considering that in a year or two these people will become entrepreneurs themselves, it is very important for us to show them that a favorable environment has been created in the Omsk region to realize their potential, favorable conditions for attracting investments. The guys should understand that they can stay in the region and realize themselves here," said Andrey Shpilenko.

During the lecture, the students were told in detail how the investment ecosystem of the region works, with a special emphasis on the "investment road" – from identifying investment niches to putting facilities into operation. The audience learned that the regional Development and Investment Agency is the core of the investment ecosystem, and one of the key tools for protecting business rights is the Investment Committee led by the Governor of the Omsk Region, Vitaly Khotsenko.

In addition, the youth presented the Rassvet system, which helps identify investment niches, form ready—made business proposals using data from customs, banks, industrial clusters and master plans and promote them. They talked about the investor's digital services – the Omsk Region Investment Internet Portal, the Investment Map of Russia and a platform that helps solve the problems of entrepreneurs and investors – POS Business.

The students learned about one of the key steps in creating a favorable investment climate in the region – the organization and holding of congress and exhibition events. This area of the Agency's activity affects the improvement of the image of the Omsk region, the strengthening of business ties, the development and support of the business community in the region.

The author's lecture was only the first part of the meeting. Next, the children had practical work in groups. With the support of the Agency's specialists, the students divided into teams and began solving practical tasks. Some groups analyzed the investment opportunities and potential of the Omsk Region among the subjects of the Russian Federation. Other teams immersed themselves in the organization of a turnkey business event: they thought over the concept, logistics and promotion.

"Such meetings are a bridge between theory at the university and actual practice in the region. We show students that the Omsk Region is a territory with clear rules, transparent digital services and a support system. The main value for us today is personnel who understand how the single window mechanism works and how to find investment niches. When active, caring guys solve real cases and see our tools from the inside, this is the most reliable way to raise a new generation of managers and entrepreneurs," said Svetlana Bazhenova, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.

Each team defended their project, received feedback and recommendations. The students noted that they liked the format of the event, they would like to see as many similar events in Omsk as possible, where students are invited and there is an opportunity to learn something new and useful about the region.
