In nine months, the Omsk region has increased the volume of exports by almost a third
The Regional Ministry of Economy reports that the volume of exports of regional enterprises increased by 28.7% in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year.
"The positive dynamics in the export of products continues to be maintained. In the first nine months of this year, foreign trade turnover increased by 19% compared to the same period last year. The amount amounted to 827.1 million US dollars, of which 556.4 million US dollars accounted for exports. Omsk Region enterprises supplied chemical industry products, rubber, foodstuffs and raw materials, machine–building products, metals and products made from them, as well as mineral products," the department explains.
It should be noted that a project is being implemented in the Omsk region aimed at developing international cooperation and exports until 2025. The essence of the project is to stimulate the creation and development of export-oriented enterprises, the development of international cooperation. In addition to the activities implemented by the Regional Government, a regional infrastructure organization, the Omsk Region Export Support Center, operates in the region on the basis of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency, whose tasks include stimulating and supporting export−oriented enterprises by organizing their participation in foreign exhibitions, fairs, contact exchanges, as well as training in the basics of export activities.
An educational project to teach Omsk companies the basics of foreign economic activity is being implemented in the region thanks to the cooperation agreement signed by Omsk Region Governor Alexander Burkov at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, which aims to help Omsk entrepreneurs become active exporters.
"Foreign trade operations for 9 months of this year were carried out with partners from 90 countries of the far and near abroad. The Omsk Region's main trading partners are Kazakhstan, China, the Netherlands, Belarus, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Algeria, Finland, Hungary, Italy, the Czech Republic, Italy and Uzbekistan. China ranks second among trading partners," the regional Ministry of Economy said.
Currently, the Ministry of Economy of the region is working on an action plan aimed at developing foreign economic relations for 2019.
