On an important day for the whole country, Ilya Varlamov took the opportunity to attach himself to another polling station and voted in the Russian presidential election in Omsk. By his own admission, he has not been to our city for almost two years. However, during this visit, the Internet activist had the opportunity not only to personally assess the changes in the appearance of urban space and the moods of Omsk residents, but also to get to know the new head of the Omsk region.

The head of the region met with a well-known urban blogger, to whom he frankly told what he thinks about the region and the problems he had to face when he arrived in the Omsk region, how he is going to solve them and with whose help. Alexander Burkov does not hide the fact that he considers social networks to be an important channel of information, sometimes more reliable and effective than monitoring ministries. Active user groups and online communities provide not only an objective cross-section of public opinion on a variety of issues, revealing problems and shortcomings, but sometimes offer very sensible solutions.

The acting Governor delves into the causes and consequences of negative processes from the very first days of assuming a new position. The meeting did not do without discussing the topic of the subway, the transfer of the serial production of Angara launch vehicles to Omsk, the construction of the airport, and the future fate of the hydroelectric complex. Many areas of the social sphere require serious financial investments. The unprecedented support provided by the federal center to the region was a good help.

"There are pain points in the city, and there are enough problems in the region. We have a lot to work on. The situation needs to be fixed. Our task is to raise people's standard of living and create a comfortable living environment for people to come here. From the point of view of economic potential, we have a lot to develop and expand. We will break through," Alexander Burkov said at the end of the meeting.
