The official opening of the Omsk Region Commodity Producers Trading House took place today, July 4, as part of the visit of the Omsk delegation to China. The promising joint project was launched by Governor Viktor Nazarov.
The Chinese authorities provided a separate hall in the duty-free trade and tourism zone of the city of Manchuria for the Omsk region Trading House, freeing it from rent for a year. Additional storage facilities have been allocated for the storage of products. Governor Viktor Nazarov thanked the leadership of Manchuria for their support and favorable conditions for this project.
"I am sure that the range of goods of the Trading House will only expand in the future. I know that our products are in demand in the Chinese market. For our part, we will contribute to this as much as possible," said Governor Viktor Nazarov.
The entire range of products of the Trading House is exclusively Omsk-made: foodstuffs, flour and confectionery products, vegetable oils, clothing. Currently, agreements have already been reached with a large Chinese network on the sale of Omsk-made products to the regions of the People's Republic of China through a Trading house. In addition, the Trading House will be linked to e-commerce.
With regard to the supply of Russian goods, the Chinese partners guarantee the application of a preferential policy: refund of export tax, exemption from import tax and VAT, and the administrative fee for imported goods has been approved at 4.5 percent. In the future, the created duty-free trade and tourism zone is planned to be turned into a collection and distribution center for Russian goods.
According to the results of the first quarter of 2017, the Omsk Region's foreign trade turnover with China increased 3.6 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to $26.6 million, while exports increased 6.4 times and imports 1.8 times.
Omsk enterprises have agreed with Chinese partners to supply flax seeds, linseed, sunflower and rapeseed oil, flour, bakery and confectionery products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. An active growth in the volume of exports of these goods has been observed since last year. A special infrastructure is being created to increase the intensity of trade. A trading house of commodity producers of the Omsk region has been opened today. A Logistics and Foreign Economic Operations Center has been established to help Omsk companies explore the Chinese market. Mutual visits and trade and economic missions are regularly organized.
Investment cooperation is developing in parallel. With the participation of Chinese capital, several enterprises have been established in the region in the field of woodworking, agriculture, textiles, footwear, and building materials.
