Governor Viktor Nazarov handed over car keys to the best farmers

Today, on November 24, the Siberian Agroindustrial Week exhibition and fair started its work at the regional Expocenter.

This is the main platform for agricultural producers, suppliers and farmers of the entire region, where the results of the agricultural season are summed up and the best technological achievements are demonstrated.

More than 200 exhibitors from Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Novosibirsk, Kirov and Omsk regions, and the Altai Territory are taking part in the 2016 exhibition. Among them are large representatives of the agricultural business, as well as small peasant farms and personal subsidiary farms, processors of agricultural products.

Viktor Nazarov, Governor of the Omsk Region, greeted the participants. "According to a long-standing tradition, those who grow grain, engage in animal husbandry, and produce food are respectfully called breadwinners. This exhibition shows that thanks to our breadwinners, Omsk residents will always have bread, meat, milk, and vegetables on their tables. And we are not afraid of any Western sanctions," said the head of the region. He stressed that the Omsk Region is one of the regions that ensure food security throughout the country. Omsk's successes in import substitution, dairy and meat production are noticeable – today we are one of the five Russian regions with the largest volumes of cheese production. According to the Governor, the achievements of regional agricultural machinery manufacturers deserve special attention.

"Today, more than 25 of our organizations produce agricultural machinery. In terms of quality, it is not inferior to imported analogues, and it significantly benefits in price. Therefore, it is in demand. The numbers speak for themselves. The year before last, our manufacturers sold equipment for more than 1 billion rubles, last year - for 1.5 billion, and this year, we expect to reach 2 billion rubles," said Viktor Nazarov.

The Governor thanked everyone who works in the agro-industrial complex of the Omsk region and congratulated farmers on the end of the next agricultural year. The achievements of agricultural producers were also noted by Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who is in the Irtysh region on a working visit. According to him, Russia has greatly improved in the agro-industrial complex in recent years and regained the title of the largest grain exporter. Omsk region has shown a very good result. "Omsk region has a very good harvest this year – almost 3.5 million tons of grain have been harvested. There are many efficient farms in the region, and livestock and poultry complexes are developing. I think it's very appropriate that the Governor of the Omsk Region declared 2017 the year of animal husbandry. I would like to congratulate all Omsk farmers on the holiday and wish them great success," said Alexander Zhukov.

The head of the region presented the keys to Lada Granta cars to the winners of labor contests at the exhibition. 12 of the best machine operators, milkmaids, and tractor drivers became owners of the new cars. After the car presentation ceremony, Viktor Nazarov, Alexander Zhukov, as well as the guests of honor began to inspect the exhibition. The entire range of production and services of the agro-industrial complex of the Omsk region was presented at the exhibition. At the stands of municipal districts, visitors were able to taste and purchase the most delicious, fresh and natural products from the manufacturer, and get acquainted with new products. In the animal husbandry section, enterprises demonstrated innovations in veterinary medicine, breeding livestock, feed additives, veterinary drugs, and equipment.
