Today, the Information Technology Forum has started for the second time in the exhibition pavilion of the regional Expocenter, bringing together IT industry specialists, leading experts from the country, representatives of almost all industries and authorities. The business program of the event includes about 1.5 thousand participants from Omsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kemerovo, Noyabrsk, Baku.
In 2017, the Forum covers new relevant areas. Issues of robotics, electronic document management, information security, import substitution, the use of IT technologies in education, agriculture and online sales registers in trade will be discussed at thematic platforms and sections. The II robotics Festival "Robofest - Western Siberia 2017" promises to be the most spectacular event of the Forum. This year, the festival has acquired the status of a district competition. The geography of its participants, representing their unique developments, has expanded, and the number of teams of the best representatives of scientific and technical creativity has increased one and a half times.
Viktor Nazarov, Governor of the Omsk Region, addressed the participants and guests at the official opening ceremony of the II International IT Forum.
"Russia has always been famous for its physicists, mathematicians, inventors, and engineers. And in Omsk, one of the country's largest industrial centers, technical specialists will always be in demand. Reviving the prestige of such professions and instilling interest in them from school is our main task, which we set for ourselves," said Governor Viktor Nazarov.
Over the past two years, more than 90 classes with advanced physics have been opened in schools in the region, and almost 10,000 children study there. "Many of them will become engineers in the future and will come to our enterprises. Festivals such as Robofest help open the way to the profession. Remember that you are creating the future. Good luck and new ideas!", Viktor Nazarov wished the Forum participants.
In turn, German Klimenko, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on Internet Development, said that he had been getting acquainted with Omsk IT companies for the second day and had already noted their interest in the development of this industry.
"It is obvious that we are moving to a new stage: from the age of oil to the age of the Internet. The government takes information technology seriously. I am sure that there will be a breakthrough in this industry, as in cosmonautics, where we are leaders. I hope that Omsk residents will contribute to technological progress," said German Klimenko.
The Governor and the guests of honor visited the demonstration sites of the II International IT Forum and the Robotics Festival competitions, where they got acquainted with the presented developments, models and programs, and interactive exhibits.
