The industrial production index in the Omsk region has grown by more than 3 percent since the beginning of 2017.

The growth drivers were food and chemical industry enterprises, as well as manufacturers of computers, optics and vehicles.

According to Omskstat, for 5 months of 2017, the industrial production index amounted to 103.2 percent compared to January-May of last year. The growth in industrial production was driven by an increase in the production of food (101.1%), beverages (120.3%), chemicals and chemical products (113.7%), production of computers, electronic and optical products (121.2%), other vehicles and equipment (120.1%).

The production of pork (by 11.4%), beef, except offal (by 5.3%), sausage products, including baby food (by 2.2%), vegetable oils (by 6.6%), cheeses, cheese products and cottage cheese (by 8.8%), milk, except raw (by 6.7%) and other products. Manufacturing industries in the Omsk region have been showing steady growth since the beginning of the year (index 103.9).
