Within the framework of the Council on Investment and Competition Development under the Governor of the Omsk Region, Evgeny Kovtun, Director General of the Regional Development and Investment Agency, presented information on investment projects implemented in the Omsk Region, supported by the "one-stop shop" principle.
"At the moment, the Agency is supporting 30 investment projects with a total planned investment of about 45.4 billion rubles. There are 6 projects under implementation with planned investments of almost 3.6 billion rubles, 4 projects with planned investments of 7.7 billion rubles at the pre–project stage, and 20 projects with planned investments of over 34 billion rubles at the investment proposal stage," said Evgeny Kovtun.
The head of the Agency notes that the dynamics of the total volume of investments actually invested in projects is growing annually from 450 million rubles in 2015 to 780 million rubles at the moment.
The largest projects supported by the Agency are the construction of a distribution center for the federal retail chain Magnit, where investments amount to 1.5 billion rubles, an ophthalmological clinic at the Intervzglyad medical center worth 500 million rubles, a Volvo–Renault hotel and service center worth about 300 million rubles, a landfill for municipal solid waste and waste sorting at a cost of 650 million rubles, as well as the expansion of the existing production of flexible packaging printed from polymer films by Planeta-Center LLC at a cost of almost 564 million rubles.
"As a result of all this work, we expect 3.5 billion by the end of 2018. capital investments, the creation of about 700 jobs and the receipt of taxes in the amount of almost 200 million rubles annually,"- said the General director of the Agency.
Evgeny Kovtun presented his suggestions for improving the work in order to attract investments. In particular, in his opinion, it is necessary to establish regular joint work on the legal vacuums of regional legislation, to combat federal gaps in the law, collectively go to the federal level, and also focus on working with those investors for whom Omsk has raw materials and resources.
"It is important to determine what exactly we should produce, and then create conditions for it. One of the serious tasks of the Agency that I see is the development of fully packaged and calculated projects that use our raw materials. Such projects are more likely to interest investors, and in any case it is better than waiting for them to come to us with their initiative," concludes the head of the Agency.
