Every fourth individual entrepreneur in Russia belongs to the youth
Every fourth individual entrepreneur in Russia is a representative of the youth. There are about 1 million people in the country today. Sole proprietors under the age of 35. At the same time, the share of young people among newly registered individual entrepreneurs is 44%. Another 5.2 million people under the age of 35 are self-employed. Such research data on the small and medium-sized business sector was presented by the SME Corporation during the forum of young entrepreneurs "Create Ours", organized by RBC, ASI and the SME Corporation.
"These data allow us to conclude that the interest of Russian youth in entrepreneurial activity is growing. And if among If the proportion of young people is almost half, then there are already more than 53% of the self-employed. Today, there are about 5.2 million people under the age of 35 in this category," said Alexander Isaevich, CEO of SME Corporation.
Alexander Isaevich said that the largest number of new entrepreneurs are registered in retail trade, which increased by 41% last year. "Online marketplace trading sets the tone here to a greater extent. We are confident that this area will grow very actively in the coming years. So far, the saturation threshold is not visible. Trade is closely followed by the provision of various personal services (5%) and food and beverages (4%) in terms of the number of new young entrepreneurs," he said.
"Today, young people are ready and can become a driver of the development of small and medium-sized businesses. And the government helps to overcome the difficulties that young people face when doing business. Thus, according to the Federal Tax Service of Russia, 58% of young entrepreneurs have already used government support measures," Alexander Isaevich said.
It should be recalled that currently relevant ministries and departments are engaged in the support and development of the youth entrepreneurship system at the federal level.: The Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Education and Science, and Rosmolodezh, as well as development institutions, primarily the SME Corporation.
