The Omsk Region Export Support Center organized the participation of ten Omsk enterprises in the international exhibition in the People's Republic of China.
From May 16 to May 18, 2018, the Omsk delegation was on a business visit to the People's Republic of China (Shanghai). The trip and participation of the Omsk business community in the international food and specialized equipment exhibition SIAL China 2018 was organized by the Export Support Center, operating on the basis of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
"In 2017, the Government of the Omsk Region, the Ministry of Economy of the Omsk Region, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk Region planned a business trip of the delegation of the Omsk region to the People's Republic of China. The Omsk Region Export Support Center, operating on the basis of the Regional Agency for Development and Investment, handled organizational issues related to the participation of Omsk entrepreneurs in the international food and specialized equipment exhibition SIAL China 2018. The Omsk region was represented at the exhibition by a collective stand with a total area of 90 m2 with individual buildings using elements of the corporate identity of the region. The Omsk Region Export Support Center organized a transfer, provided translation services while working at the stand, as well as special equipment for demonstrating exhibition samples and conducting tastings for participating companies," said Evgeny Kovtun, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
Each of the Omsk companies held a number of productive negotiations. Thus, the company TD Vesely Melnik LLC, which is engaged in the production of products of the milling and cereal industry and wholesale of grain, seeds and feed for farm animals, held about 30 negotiations, of which 10 contractors were identified who showed great interest in the products. According to Vitaly Loginovskikh, commercial director of the Omsk company, Vesely Melnik intends to ship trial batches of products to the People's Republic of China and develop business relations with potential Chinese partners. The commercial terms of supply are currently being negotiated.
The negotiations with the confectionery factory TPK Sladonezh LLC, which is ready to supply waffle candies of the brands "Derevenkovo" and "Milyanochka" with milk flavor to the Chinese market, proved fruitful. The company held about 60 negotiations with Chinese businessmen during the exhibition. "We have identified 3 Chinese companies that are the largest distributors in the Chinese market. At the moment, it's a matter of choosing who to start a business relationship with. We will make the choice based on the projected values of annual product supply volumes to the market of the People's Republic of China. During the business negotiations, the supply of up to 1,000 tons of waffle candies per year was discussed," said Tatiana Khafizova, Regional Sales Manager at TPK Sladonezh LLC.
A number of meetings were held by the head of the regional sales department of the Omsk company Sibsnek, Vitaly Semenov. Sibsnack company is successfully engaged in the production of snack products – roasted peanuts, seeds, chips, crackers – under the trademarks Sibbalt, Pivahis, Khlebariki, Drive, etc. "Our company has developed two new flavors of chips specifically for the Chinese market - Wasabi and Thai Pepper, which have a sweet and sour taste. This product is in high demand and is in demand in the Chinese market. One of the potential customers asked to increase the package volume to 200 grams. Upon arrival in Omsk, the company's specialists will deal with this issue. In addition to distributors from China, OTTO from South Korea, as well as a distributor from Taiwan, became interested in chips. These contacts can also be attributed to the most promising," said Vitaly Semenov.
Representatives of IP Tarasova G.N. (trademark "SibHolod") successfully negotiated with Chinese enterprises. Omsk Ice Cream Factory has already been present on the market of the People's Republic of China since 2017, and also actively participates in international exhibitions.
"It should be noted that according to the results of the tasting of the expert commission of the international exhibition SIAL China 2018, the filling products of the brand "On cream" of the Sibkholod company (IP Tarasova G.N.) received a gold medal for quality. Olga Koshevaya, the company's Business Development Director, presented new types of ice cream and the anniversary series of the "On Cream" trademark. This is the only product in the category of ice cream production from Russia that has received a high award for quality," the Omsk Region Export Support Center said.
During his work at the exhibition, Sibholod identified three of the most promising contacts: a distribution company with a planned supply volume of 2 refrigerated containers of ice cream per month, a large retail chain, and a government procurement contact. In addition, the contacts of many small wholesale companies were transferred to the current distributor of Sibholod to expand sales.
It was not the first time that representatives of IP Frick AA (Omsk Pasta Factory), the largest producer of pasta and flour "DOBRODEYA" in Western Siberia of the Russian Federation, held negotiations in China. Omsk Pasta Factory has had about 20 contacts with promising wholesale and distribution companies. Chinese distributors have shown interest in flour under the Dobrodeya trademark.
"In order to promote pasta products to the Chinese market, a more thorough study and promotion is required. Nevertheless, our company sees potential in the southern provinces of China. The contacts of small wholesale companies were transferred to the current distributor of the Omsk Pasta Factory, which will lead to an increase in flour shipments. One of the potential Chinese partners plans to build a factory for the production of noodles, which he wants to produce from flour of TM Dobrodeya," said Vitaly Toveskin, Head of Sales Department.
The Sibirsky Trading House (Lyubinsky Dairy and Cannery) took part in the Omsk delegation at the SIAL China 2018 exhibition. Lyubinsky Dairy Cannery produces more than 60 types of products. Today, the company processes up to 450 tons of milk per day. Condensed milk from Omsk was very popular at the exhibition. "In addition to Chinese entrepreneurs, distributors from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan have shown interest in our products. Companies from these countries are interested in the supply of condensed milk. In turn, Chinese distributors expect the lifting of restrictions on the import of animal products from the Russian Federation by the end of 2018. After the restrictions are lifted, a number of companies with which negotiations were held at the exhibition are ready to purchase condensed and powdered milk from Omsk production," said Sergey Kharkov, General Director of the Sibirsky Trading House.
The confectionery factory "Sladunitsa & Co." held more than 30 negotiations within the framework of the last exhibition. Today it is a holding company that unites three factories: a factory of classic sweets, a factory of sweets and a factory of innovative sweets. "Participation in the exhibition for the confectionery factory "Sladunitsa" was successful. We have achieved our goals and objectives: effective negotiations have been conducted with a number of potential counterparties. The exhibition participants were particularly interested in the new candies "The Smartest", "The Samurai's Wife" and "Nyashechka". The jelly candies "Red-Shameless" with orange butter remain constant favorites.Negotiations are currently continuing in Omsk. We are expecting the heads of a number of Chinese distribution companies here in the near future, and we believe that productive cooperation will be achieved soon. We evaluate the exhibition site as an effective communication tool that allows us to present Omsk products internationally," said Anna Popova, PR specialist at CF Sladunitsa & Co.
The Center for Logistics and Foreign Economic Operations held more than 60 negotiations at the exhibition. The Chinese partners were interested in the entire product line presented at the Omsk Trading House. The interest in natural vegetable oils and honey should be highlighted separately. The products of Omsk manufacturers represented at the Omsk Trading House were presented at the stand of the Omsk region. Omsk products received a lot of positive reviews during the tasting. The contacts received at the international exhibition will be worked out in the near future.
