The interregional association "Siberian Agreement" will support the Omsk project on ash processing and useful use

AMIS experts discussed plans for the development of the industrial cluster of ash processing at a meeting in Omsk.

The meeting participants – the heads of the Executive Committee of the AMIS Andrey Zhukov and Gennady Guselnikov, Chairman of the Board of the Omsk Industrial Cluster for the Processing and use of ash and slag materials, CEO of Osnova Holding JSC Alexander Antropenko and Executive Director of the cluster Sergey Lekarevich discussed the prospects for the processing of ash and slag materials. The corresponding cluster was created in 2017 with the assistance of the regional Government. The head of the region, Alexander Burkov, signed an order yesterday on the inclusion of the Omsk industrial cluster for the processing of ash and slag materials in the target regional program.

"Our work was supported by the leadership of the Omsk region and regional branch ministries, which took into account the experience of successful implementation of projects for the production of aerated concrete blocks of WARMITE, Portland cement, and ash bricks, which use ash and slag materials in their production," emphasized Alexander Antropenko.

As it was mentioned at the meeting, investments in production amounted to 2 billion rubles. Today, the production facilities of the enterprises allow processing about 250 thousand tons of ash. According to experts, the implementation of all cluster projects will allow the use of 29 million tons of ash, which will significantly reduce the environmental damage that ash dumps cause to the environment of Omsk. Omsk thermal power plants have now accumulated 75 million tons of ash.

Andrey Zhukov, Chairman of the AMIS Executive Committee, noted the importance of the Omsk project and said that the Siberian Agreement Interregional Association is also working in the field of utilization and use of CHP ash in a number of regions and has promising developments.

"We welcome the successful experience of the Omsk industrial cluster in the processing and use of ash and slag materials and are interested in developing the technology of multi–tonnage ash processing," Zhukov said. Following the meeting, specific agreements were reached on the development of ash processing projects at the interregional level. The AMIS Executive Committee will prepare a package of documents to promote Omsk's unique technology in other regions of Siberia.
