The strategy of sustainable development of the Omsk Region will be presented at the SCO International Sustainable Development Forum

On April 16, Omsk Region will become a center of attraction for experts and leaders in the field of sustainable development, representatives of government, business, the scientific community and youth of the SCO countries. The region will become a venue for the International Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Representatives of the Republics of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the People's Republic of China, and the Republic of India will take part in the event. Notably, Sberbank PJSC is a partner of the Forum.

According to Governor Vitaly Khotsenko, the Forum will discuss the transition to a low-carbon economy, ESG ratings, green development, the implementation of national projects, and the role of business in territorial development.

In addition, a Strategy for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the Omsk region will be presented. This is a unique document, which for the first time in the country outlines specific actions for each goal set by the UN General Assembly.

The forum will conclude with the plenary session "SCO 2030: the path to sustainable development", during which it is planned to discuss the creation of a National ESG Rating of regions, systematization of data on progress towards achieving the SDGs, as well as improving the efficiency of using national projects.
