Today, the East Kazakhstan region has become a platform for a major international dialogue on investment and development. The Altay Invest-2025 forum was opened in Ust-Kamenogorsk under the motto "East Kazakhstan - new horizons of growth". Evgeny Kovtun, Director General of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency, took part in the business program of the Forum.
The event brought together investors, experts and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of key industries in the region, expand transport and logistics partnership, stimulate the growth of direct investment, identify new points of economic growth and international cooperation.
An exhibition of investment projects was held within the framework of the Forum, where more than 50 Kazakhstani companies presented products and stands in the fields of industry, agriculture, energy and tourism, as well as panel sessions and B2B meetings.
Evgeny Kovtun made a presentation to the participants of the plenary session on the topic: "Prospects for cross-border cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan," where he spoke about cooperation:
"Our region sees the East Kazakhstan region as one of its key partners. The main directions are the expansion of economic ties, the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, and the strengthening of cultural, scientific and educational contacts. In the near future, we will organize a presentation for exporters and importers of Omsk and East Kazakhstan regions, where we will discuss the prospects for organizing mutual supplies of products. We are already creating a working group with regional tour operators in our regions to develop cultural and historical tourism. Together with colleagues from the Akimat of the East Kazakhstan region, we are organizing work to attract young people from Kazakhstan to participate in the youth project "Irtysh: river of friendship – river of development".
In addition, the Agency's CEO spoke about the support of investors in the "one-stop shop" mode in the region and the development of investment proposals. Promising projects cover a wide range of industries, including industry, agriculture, tourism and innovative technologies.
Currently, the Investment Portal contains 26 investment proposals, which can be viewed here.
