The professional award is held within the framework of the National Strategy of Action for Women, approved by the Russian Government. Women leaders in a wide range of fields can claim victory, from industry and scientific research to the beauty industry and consulting.
The award was held for the first time last year, to a full house, becoming a notable event uniting the women's business community. 650 businesswomen from all over the Urals applied for participation at that time. The Award was supported by the Presidential Envoy to the Ural Federal District. This year, the embassy also announced its support, due to the fact that the Award helps to enhance the role of women in the modern world, creating equal conditions for men and women in business.
The all-Russian non-governmental organization of small and medium-sized enterprises Opora Rossii will also provide support to the Business Prestige. Its president, Alexander Kalinin, emphasized: "The Women's Award is attended by female founders and managers of small and medium-sized businesses, for the development of which, among other things, OPORA RUSSIA is working. The National Strategy of Action for Women for 2023-2030, which is in force in our country, consolidates the efforts of government authorities and public organizations to support women and protect their rights. We are ready to be a support for the participants of the Business Prestige.
Participation is free. A woman who has reached the age of 25, who owns a business or holds a senior position in a company, or is an expert in private practice, can apply on the principle of self-nomination. In 2024, the competition will be held in nine regions: six regions of the Ural Federal District, as well as Bashkortostan, Perm Krai and the Omsk Region, which joined this year.
Rustam Mingazov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk region: "Given the strong ties of the Omsk region with the Urals, our region should be represented in the Award. Therefore, we gratefully supported this initiative of the organizing committee. We have a lot of active women in business. It's great that their achievements will be celebrated in a prestigious project that motivates the development of women's entrepreneurship."
The Expert jury included public figures, politicians, and heads of government.
Dmitry Ionin, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region: "I hope that the businesswomen of the Sverdlovsk region will actively participate in the Award again. Last year, our region was the leader in both the number of applications and the number of nominees in the TOP 100, and the amazing final took place in Yekaterinburg as the capital of the Urals. But, of course, as a member of the Expert Jury, I will be rooting for all the participants who have achieved significant results in their field."
Alexander Sheldyaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government - Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation of the Republic of Bashkortostan: "Once again, I readily responded to the organizing committee's offer to join the Expert Jury. I will study the applications of the participants with interest, get acquainted with the peculiarities of women's business in different regions. I am sure that I will find ideas useful for Bashkortostan. And, of course, I want to support talented women who prove that business is also a woman's business."
Maria Okulova, project Manager: "The first Business Prestige Award was so motivating and inspiring that this year many businesswomen were waiting and asking when applications were accepted. We have shifted the stages of the Award and postponed the final to the fall, due to plans to introduce significant innovations in the project. Even the application campaign will be accompanied by bright events. There are no longer 14 nominations, but 16: "Energy and Innovation" and "IT sphere" have been added, since last year there were applications in these areas. There will also be new special categories relevant to today's economy, but I will not open the veil yet. And of course, we will award the GRAND PRIX to the winner of the title of the Best Female Entrepreneur of 2024. We invite all brave women to take part and unlock their potential even more."
The main winner of 2023, Irina Yuzhaninova from Perm, the founder of the Kama Chemical Company, became the ambassador of the project. "A woman has unique flexibility, communication and survivability, because she is responsible for the happiness of her children and loved ones. And women's business demonstrates a high survival rate in times of crisis. For me, women's entrepreneurship is about independence, as well as making a profit, which I can also distribute to social projects. My credo is to improve people's quality of life. And I know that's how many female entrepreneurs think. Business Prestige inspires us with confidence, helps us find friends with similar principles, and establish ourselves throughout the country as a reliable partner for business cooperation," Irina Yuzhaninova shared.
