On February 24, the first meeting of the Export Council under the Governor of the Omsk Region in 2026 took place. The participants summed up the results of foreign economic activity for 2025 and approved strategic priorities for the current period.
The head of the region, Vitaly Khotsenko, noted that one of the key areas will be the systematic work on opening representative offices of the Omsk region abroad. A representative of the region is already working in Uzbekistan. In 2026, the task was set to continue organizing representative offices of the region in the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. These countries will become key partners of the region in attracting investors and developing export potential.
Thus, during the meeting, a solemn ceremony was held to exchange documents on cooperation with partners from Armenia: an agreement was signed between the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency JSC, the Omsk branch of the Union of Armenians of Russia and the Armenian Secret company.
The main purpose of the agreement is to develop long—term and mutually beneficial cooperation, create favorable conditions for attracting investments into the economy of the Omsk region, as well as to create a positive investment image of the region in the Republic of Armenia.
"The signed agreement is a practical step in the implementation of the strategy for integration into the economic space of the SCO countries. Now, in the Republic of Armenia, we will actively promote information about the unique opportunities of the Omsk region.: our scientific, industrial and agro-industrial complex, rich cultural and educational potential, and most importantly, a favorable investment climate. The Agency's specialists will provide consultations to representatives on working with investors and supporting investment projects on a one-stop-shop basis, participate in organizing conferences, seminars, exhibitions, forums, working visits by Omsk Region delegations and other events held in the Republic. Systematic work will open up new prospects for Omsk enterprises, strengthen the region's international ties and create additional opportunities for economic growth in the Omsk Region," said Svetlana Bazhenova, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
