Omsk municipalities "reset" investment profiles
The team of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Agency for Development and Investment of the Omsk Region continues to work on creating comfortable and understandable conditions for investing in the region. On February 6, visiting strategic sessions were held in the Moskalensky and Kalachinsky municipal districts.
The main objective of the events is to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as to develop a comprehensive action plan to develop the investment potential of municipalities. At the same time, the main role in determining prospects and new investment projects is assigned to business and the public.
The participants of the strategic sessions in the Moskalensky and Kalachinsky municipal districts were the leadership of the districts, heads of rural settlements, investment representatives, leading experts, representatives of business and the public.
"Our task today is to enable businesses to speak openly about the strengths and weaknesses of the district, and to clearly articulate the opportunities and threats to the development of the territory. As a result, it is the opinion of entrepreneurs that should form the basis of promising investment niches and investment projects that will drive the district's economy. And all this will eventually be reflected in the municipality's investment profile," Denis Kushner, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Omsk Region, said in his welcoming speech.
An investment profile is a document that takes into account current business trends, cooperative chains, resource potential, the future, present and past of a territory.
"Today we will look at the issues, our omissions, strengths and resources, where we can develop with our capabilities, and where we can attract investors. I suggest everyone take an active part. This is an impetus to the development of both settlements and the entire district," Alexander Gerlits, First Deputy head of the Moskalensky Municipal District, shared in his welcoming speech.
Work on updating the sections and contents of municipal passports began in 2024. At the first strategic session, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government Andrey Shpilenko noted that collaboration between municipalities and the Agency would make this process more efficient: it would help identify the development vectors of municipalities and help investors assess the potential of the region's territories in terms of business growth.
The investment profiles formed as part of the work at the strategic sessions will be available on the Omsk Region Investment Portal after the project defense, which will take place in March 2025.
