Omsk oil pipelines have upgraded the Omsk MNPP site – Sokur

Company «Transneft – Western Siberia» reconstruction work has been completed 19-kilometer section of the main oil product pipeline (MNPP)

The linear part was replaced in order to improve the operational reliability of the main oil product pipeline and ensure a high level of industrial and environmental safety of facilities. According to the reconstructed section of the Omsk MNPP – The refinery products are transported from the pumping station «Chulym» on the LPDS «Sokur» - one of the largest stations of the enterprise. This station plays a very important role in the oil product pipeline system of JSC «Transneft – Western Siberia». Oil products are delivered from it to an oil depot, which supplies Novosibirsk and nearby areas with fuel. 

According to the design solutions, the specialists laid a new section of the pipeline using a trench method, and a horizontal screw drilling method was applied at the junction under the highway. The Omsk-Sokur MNPP also crosses the river at the site of the work. In accordance with the regulatory requirements, cast-iron ballasting weights were used to ensure the stability of the pipeline in a small watercourse. A new shut-off valve assembly was installed, plunger wells and wells of control and measuring devices were installed. 

After carrying out a full range of checks on the condition of the insulation coating, hydraulic tests, cleaning of the internal cavity, and profilometry of the pipeline, the reconstructed section was connected to the system of the existing oil product pipeline. Electrical and chemical protection equipment has been connected, the highway and permanent crossings have been arranged.
