The regional Ministry of Industry explained that the growth in vehicle production is primarily due to an increase in orders for the production of engines, systems and equipment for aviation.
2017 was a significant year for Omsk enterprises involved in the production of aircraft. For example, Hi-Tech JSC, which participates in the "Mainline Aircraft of the XXI Century" program, is developing the production of power units for the MC-21 aircraft, as well as new products for completing SU-30, SU-34, and Su-35 aircraft. The company's staff has started mass production of a centrifugal electric drive pump used in the construction of the improved SU-35S series, and has produced a pilot batch of a propeller control pump for IL–series aircraft. The company's immediate plans include mass production of certain types of units, solving import substitution problems and transferring production to new high-tech equipment.
Omsk Machine-Building Design Bureau JSC, under an agreement with the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (Yekaterinburg), is developing design documentation for turboprop engine control systems to be installed on the L-410 aircraft under the import substitution program. The production and shipment of the first samples of the units is scheduled for August 2018. In addition, under an agreement with the NTC of Gas Turbine Engineering "Salyut", a preliminary design of the engine control system units on the Yak-130 aircraft and the use of an attack drone as a power plant was completed.
In October 2017, the Salyut Gas Turbine Center celebrated its 105th anniversary. In connection with the significant date of the parent company and for many years of conscientious work, 13 employees of the Omsk branch of OMO named after P.I. Baranov were awarded corporate and industry awards. Omsk engine builders celebrated the 100th anniversary of their factory a year earlier. Today, with the direct participation of the company, aircraft engines and power plants are being manufactured for Su-17, Su-24, MiG-29, IL-96-300, IL-86, Il-112, Il-114, Yak-130 and others. The Omsk branch has modern production facilities that allow it to carry out all the technological processes used in the production, maintenance and overhaul of aircraft engines. The long-term development program provides for the modernization of production, an increase in the volume and range of products. One of the key areas is work on the import substitution program and participation in the implementation of the state defense order.
