Omsk students will find new tourist meanings in the land of five lakes

In the period from September 20 to September 22, students of Omsk Technical University together with government representatives will go on an expedition "Five Lakes: facts, legends, stories and secrets" to study the tourist potential of the territories of the Muromtsevsky municipal district of the Omsk region.

The expedition is organized by Omsk State Technical University with the support of the regional Government, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education of the Omsk region, as well as the municipal budgetary inter-settlement institution of culture and tourism "Five Lakes - Muromtsevo".

The expedition group will include 30 students from OmSTU in various fields of study: "Tourism", "Hospitality", "Advertising and Public Relations", "Psychology of professional activity". Experts from the Siberian Cultural Center "Terem", the Tourist Information Center of the Omsk region and representatives of the Administration of the Muromtsevsky municipal district will provide expert support to the expedition participants.

It should be noted that a distinctive feature of this event will be a direct real-time dialogue between students and representatives of the regional government, which will serve as a driver for the development of tourism and investment attractiveness of the Muromtsevsky municipal district of the Omsk region.

"It is important for the Government of the Omsk region to receive feedback from the guys, to take into account their initiatives to develop the territories of their native land in order to promote the self-realization of young people in the Omsk region," said Deputy Chairman of the regional Government Andrey Shpilenko.

An extensive program is planned for the participants: excursions to the villages and villages of the Muromtsevsky district, trips to famous lakes, visits to iconic monuments, group work on projects, evening cultural and entertainment program.

"The departure to the expedition is preceded by a large-scale work of students. The students get acquainted with the tourist passport of the Muromtsevsky municipal district, paying special attention to cultural heritage, authentic gastronomy, local legends and folklore, as well as analyze the tourist infrastructure of the territories and up-to-date statistics of the tourist flow," noted the curators of the expedition from OmSTU.

The result of the expedition's work will be the development of projects aimed at improving the area's hospitality infrastructure, developing new routes and increasing the number of tourist visits. The students will present these projects to potential investors at the International Tourism and Transport Forum "Rest! Omsk – 2024" in the regional Congress Hall on November 9, 2024.
