Omsk Oil Refinery has equipped the first innovative laboratory of natural sciences

The largest plant in the region has opened the first multidisciplinary laboratory on the basis of gymnasium No. 117.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Industry of the Omsk region at the enterprise, this project was implemented as part of the career guidance program "School-secondary school/University-ONPZ", which provides for the introduction of new generation educational standards for practice-oriented education of schoolchildren and students.

Since 2014, Omsk Oil Refinery has equipped 17 modern chemistry and physics classrooms in 9 partner schools, equipping them with modern laboratory and multimedia equipment.

It is planned that innovative research laboratories will be opened in all partner schools of the enterprise and will become the basis for the creation of a single multidisciplinary research center in Omsk.

Omsk Refinery specialists have now begun work on the creation of a multidisciplinary physico-chemical research center based on school No. 109, which includes a laboratory, an engineering graphics and modeling class, and a conference room. It will ensure the continuity of the projects of the "School-Secondary school/University-ONPZ" program and will become the basis for practical and in-depth design work.

The opening of the research laboratory at the 117th gymnasium has become a new stage of career guidance aimed at the technological education of children and the development of their research abilities.  The site is equipped with a number of laboratory complexes for developing skills in modeling, forecasting, design and research activities, and working with the latest software products. The new laboratory will also allow students to engage in independent research at the junction of several disciplines – natural sciences, physics, chemistry, biology.

"Omsk Oil Refinery implements the most modern technological solutions, scientific developments, and production automation systems during a large-scale modernization program. We see how our industry is changing based on best practices and our own experience, and we can predict which way the profession is changing. Today, many specialties are being transformed, they require additional knowledge, and sometimes additional education. Omsk Oil Refinery implements a comprehensive training program, and the projects that we carry out jointly with partner schools are the foundation of this work, because it is at school that interest in the future specialty is laid, skills are formed that will develop into inclinations and form the basis of future professionalism," commented the General Director of Gazpromneft-ONPZ." Oleg Belyavsky.
