Omsk Transport Engineering Plant has received an expert opinion authorizing it to certify testing equipment used in the assessment of conformity of defense products.
The company has begun preparations for the modernization of existing stands for testing manufactured components and assemblies for strength, tightness, exposure to elevated temperatures and other indicators, as well as to simulate real-world operating conditions in accordance with modern requirements of state standards.
Omsktransmash JSC became the first enterprise within the Uralvagonzavod Corporation to receive such a permit, and the 55th in the country. The expert opinion of the state Scientific Metrological Institute will allow the plant to significantly save time and money spent on attracting third-party specialized organizations in order to conduct initial equipment certification. The obtained "verification right" also allows for a metrological examination of programs and methods for the certification of new test equipment being put into operation.
The Omsk Plant of Transport Engineering is one of the largest enterprises in the Siberian region with a 120–year history and its own scientific and production base.
Omsktransmash carries out the design and manufacture of prototypes and small series of military engineering equipment of various types, repair and modernization of a number of combat vehicles of the Republic of Armenia. The plant is the only manufacturer of tracks for heavy armored vehicles in Russia.
Today, the Russian Armed Forces are supplied with 29 samples of military equipment manufactured by the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant. Among them are the T-80U tank, a heavy flamethrower system, a floating conveyor, a special fire truck, and mechanized assault bridges. Since 2010, Omsktransmash JSC has been a part of Uralvagonzavod.
