Open Industry in Omsk: The regional team discussed steps to promote industrial tourism

Today, a strategic orientation session for members of the regional industrial tourism development team took place at the regional Congress Hall. During the business event, we met with new team members, discussed steps to develop a common project for the Open Industry accelerator, and outlined plans to promote industrial tourism in the region.

It should be recalled that the Open Industry All-Russian educational program for promoting the human and technological potential of Russian manufacturers is being implemented by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives together with the Center for Tourism and Hospitality Competencies with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. The Agency for Development and Investment of the Omsk Region is the body responsible for the training of the regional team members. The agency is recruiting participants, processing and applying for participation in the accelerator from the region, and also supervises the educational process of participants from the Omsk region.

Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government, moderated the strategic session. The session was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, advanced industrial enterprises of the region, business and public associations, universities, as well as experts from the tourism industry.

"We don't just create factory tours. We are developing and systematically developing a modern mechanism that works for the image of the region, its investment attractiveness and business openness. This is a story about loyalty to local brands, career guidance for young people and, most importantly, a new unique product that will make tourists from all over the country choose the Omsk region," said Deputy Chairman of the regional Government Andrey Shpilenko.

So, the participants discussed the main target audiences and routes, the results of the team's work for 2025, as well as further training steps within the framework of the All-Russian educational program "Open Industry". Representatives of model industrial enterprises in the region, such as Poliom, NPO MIR and Omsk Rubber, shared their experience of conducting excursions at their sites.

During the strategy session, the key issue for discussion was the development of a common project within the framework of the educational accelerator. The participants unanimously agreed that the region needs an industrial and tourist route, the red thread of which will be the synergy of industrial power, the history of the Omsk region and creative industries. In 2026, its active development will begin.

"Nowadays, people want not only to relax, but also to learn how to create familiar things, from rubber to high-tech equipment. This is a great opportunity for the Omsk Region, with its powerful industrial potential. For tourists, it means seeing the "cuisine" of industry giants, becoming part of the industrial history, and for the region, creating a new stream of travelers and strengthening the economy. Therefore, we are happy and very interested in developing industrial tourism at the enterprise for several years," said Ekaterina Zadvornova, Chief Corporate Communications Expert at POLIOM.
