The Regional Investment Committee approved the construction of new workshops for the production of power transmission poles in Omsk, as well as the construction of a cardboard production plant in Kalachinsk.
The Governor of the Omsk Region, Vitaly Khotsenko, held a meeting of the Investment Committee of the Council for Investment and Competition Development. Among the main issues is the possibility of leasing a land plot without bidding to create additional production and infrastructure facilities for the production of power transmission poles. The project is being implemented by Omsk Electromechanical Plant JSC. The company is one of the key suppliers in the energy, oil and gas industries.
"We have decided to lease land for the creation of additional production and infrastructure facilities for the production of power transmission poles. The plant will technically re-equip the procurement and assembly and welding sections, as well as build new indoor and outdoor areas for picking, storing and shipping finished products. The renovation will increase the competitiveness of the plant, create new jobs, increase production and tax deductions," said Vitaliy Khotsenko.
The second project, which also received support, is the construction of a cardboard production plant in Kalachinsk. The company will become one of the largest in the city. It will be located in the empty workshops of a former brick factory. The new factory will be able to produce up to 35,000 tons of paper products per year. The investor is ready to invest 850 million rubles in the implementation. This will create 110 new jobs for residents of Kalachinsk and the region.
The investment committee also reviewed the construction project for a river-sea class vessel production plant in Omsk. The Omsk River Port enterprise plans to produce barge platforms for transportation of construction materials and other cargoes.
"The new production facility in the Leninsky District will increase cargo turnover through the Omsk Region to the regions of the Far North, as well as to Kazakhstan and China," the Governor noted.
