Sowing of grain and leguminous crops in the Omsk region is scheduled for the second decade of May.

Farmers receive discounts on fuel and lubricants and subsidies for the purchase of elite seeds.

Preparations for the sowing campaign are continuing in the Omsk region. The work on closing moisture in the fields was carried out on an area of 1.2 million hectares. 354 tons of mineral fertilizers were applied on an area of 10.2 thousand hectares, equipment was prepared. 7.5 thousand tractors, 12.6 thousand grain seeders and 660 modern wide-range sowing complexes will be involved in the spring field work.

Specialists of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food at a conference call with the heads of agricultural departments and chief agronomists of the districts analyzed the situation in the fields and came to the conclusion that the work on closing moisture can be completed in 10 days. Sowing of grain and leguminous crops will begin on May 10. It is planned to carry out the sowing campaign in 23 days, working in the fields for 10 hours daily. Forage crops will be sown according to the green conveyor schedule.

Maxim Chekusov, Minister of Agriculture and Food, announced a discount of 500 rubles for each ton of fuel provided by Gazprom. To date, agricultural producers have purchased 24.4 thousand tons of diesel summer fuel and 19 thousand tons of AI-80 gasoline. If we take into account that the spring field work will require 45,2 thousand tons of summer diesel fuel and 3,7 thousand tons of AI-80 gasoline, the savings are significant. In addition, farmers will receive subsidies for the purchase of elite seeds in the amount of 87 million rubles. For comparison, last year the amount of state support for these purposes was two times less and amounted to 43.6 million rubles.

The meeting participants discussed sowing technologies and the preparation of seeds that need to be etched to protect against diseases. According to the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoznadzor" in the Omsk region, almost 365 thousand tons of grain and leguminous seeds were planted in the region for the 2017 harvest, 100% of the seeds were tested, of which 363 thousand tons (99.6%) were conditioned. As of May 2, the region has about 7.7 thousand tons of grain and leguminous seeds, 344 tons of annual grass seeds, 142 tons of perennial grass seeds and 394 tons of industrial crops for sale. The region has also imported pickled corn seeds of Kuban breeding, which can yield a good harvest.

"We need to optimally work out the sowing campaign this year, get more wheat of the 3rd class," the minister set the task.

This year, all conditions have been created for the organized conduct of spring field work: there is enough equipment, seeds, and financial resources. By May 15, the heads of agricultural departments will prepare information on obtaining long-term loans from 2 to 8 years for the implementation of investment projects, and then it will be possible to predict the development of the agricultural sector in the future.

Special attention is paid to fire safety measures during field work. The use of open fire on agricultural land is prohibited in the country. As practice shows, most forest fires occur due to burning of dry grass. Gorenje. The fire is difficult to stop in the wind, and it engulfs forests. Violation of fire regulations is punishable by law.
