Another training course "Process Factory" was held for Omskvodokanal, which is a participant in the federal project "Labor Productivity". The lesson was conducted by certified trainers of the Regional Competence Center (RCC) of the Omsk region free of charge as part of the project.
Omskvodokanal is a key life support company for the city, providing water supply and sanitation for more than 1.1 million residents and thousands of industrial facilities. Participation in the Labor Productivity project has become a conscious step towards modernization for the company: optimization of processes here directly affects the quality of public services for each resident. The company not only repairs networks, but also strives to eliminate "bottlenecks" in management, logistics and repair teams.
Let us remind you that the "Process Factory" is a training platform that simulates a real production workshop or office, where the theory of lean production is immediately tested by practice. The participants of the training turn into a team of assemblers of a real product – gas pressure regulators.
Trainer of the "Factory of Processes", Deputy Head of the Omsk Region RCCVadim Shulgat noted: "Training forces the brain to switch from the "historically speaking," mode to the "how to do it faster, better and at no extra cost." For production workers, this is an opportunity to "feel out" the tools with their hands, without risking stopping the real conveyor. They clearly see how the organization of the workspace reduces the time required to complete tasks. For office employees: accountants, engineers, economists and HR specialists, it is also an opportunity to see overloads and downtime in their work. The Process Factory teaches that it doesn't matter if you assemble a crane or sign a contract, the logic of eliminating losses is the same."
The stages of the "Process Factory" look like this:
"As it is" (Chaos): the team starts building according to the old rules. There are unnecessary movements, expectations, alterations. Parts fall off, tools are lost — a familiar picture of any production.
Diagnosis (Analysis): The trainers of the Omsk region RCC help to analyze each step "under the microscope". Participants can see for themselves where minutes are being lost and why people get tired.
"How it should be" (Optimization): The team implements lean production tools: 5C (system of order), standardization, flow mapping.
Result: the second and third rounds of assembly. The process becomes transparent, and production increases significantly.
He shared his impressionsAndrey Knyazev, an emergency repair mechanic: "When people tell you about "lean manufacturing," it sounds like an abstract theory. But the "Process Factory" is a powerful "electric shock". We literally went from chaos to a harmonious system in just one working day. I came here as a skeptic, but I left with a clear understanding of what "bottlenecks" we can remove in our real workflow tomorrow. I recommend it to all my colleagues, regardless of their position – from the master to the top manager."
An enterprise from the basic non-resource sectors of the economy (manufacturing, agriculture, transport, construction, trade) can become a participant in the federal project "Labor Productivity" (part of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy") and receive support from the Omsk Region RCC.
