A Russian agroholding from Kaliningrad is implementing an investment project for grain transshipment in the Omsk region

Since November 2015, an agrologistic center for grain transshipment with a design capacity of 160 thousand tons per year has been operating in the Omsk region. The volume of investments to date has amounted to more than 200 million rubles.

Alexander Burkov, the head of the region, and Alexander Pedchenko, Head of the Regional Programs Department of the Sodruzhestvo-Sibir Company, discussed prospects for cooperation in the implementation of an investment project of an agrologistic center in the Omsk region during a working meeting.

It should be noted that the meeting became possible as a result of negotiations at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in May this year between Alexander Burkov, head of the Omsk Region, and Dmitry Savenkov, Director of the Sodruzhestvo Management Company Limited Liability Company.

"The Sodruzhestvo Group of Companies implements investment projects in the regions of Russia to create a network of agricultural terminals. Omsk region became one of the sites. The investor purchased a plot of land here and launched the project. At this stage, there was a need for the assistance of regional authorities, and we joined the process," explains Rasim Galyamov, Minister of Economy of the Omsk Region.

After the conclusion of the agreement, the existing agrologistic center will be expanded to a federal-scale terminal through the efforts of the Omsk authorities and the company. The volume of planned investments will amount to about 25 million US dollars.

The agroholding's cooperation with Omsk farmers began in 2012, when the company "Sodruzhestvo-Siberia" was founded. Already in November 2015, the Sodruzhestvo group of companies completed construction, and the Omsk agrologistic center, located near the village of Magistralny in the Omsk region, began work.

"We evaluated investment sites in the regions from the point of view of logistics. The Omsk region has a number of advantages in this regard. Having assessed all the advantages and disadvantages, we made a decision, launched the project, and now we need joint action areas with the government that will allow us to increase the project's capacity. It's about infrastructure. If we talk about the scale, the Omsk region will become the transport hub of Siberia for grain transshipment for eight regions, among them the North Kazakhstan region. The grain transshipment capacity will reach 1 million tons per year," shares Alexander Pedchenko.
