The restart of the regional Development and Investment Agency's activities was discussed with Omsk parliamentarians

An off-site meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy and Investments of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region was held today at the regional Congress Hall. Deputies, representatives of executive authorities and the Development and Investment Agency discussed work plans for 2024.

Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region and representative of the Omsk Region to the Government of the Russian Federation, addressed the deputies of the Legislative Assembly.

Andrey Viktorovich spoke in detail about the analysis and reboot of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency: the strengths and weaknesses of the Agency's activities were identified, the main opportunities and areas of the Agency's work were identified, a target model for working with investors was built, and key performance indicators for all areas of activity were established.

"The head of the region, Vitaly Khotsenko, has set an ambitious task – to bring our region into the top ten most investment-attractive regions. We need to make sure that investors want to come to the region and invest money. For these purposes, a whole range of measures is planned: to expand the staff of the Agency, to continuously improve professional competencies, to popularize the Agency's activities, to proactively work with Russian and foreign investors, and to introduce an investor's personal account on the Omsk Region Investment Portal," said Andrey Shpilenko.

As part of the business program, the Agency's Director General, Evgeny Kovtun, said that a comparative analysis of the Agency's activities and the leaders among all corporations of the Russian Federation in the main areas of activity had been conducted. In his report, the CEO also shared the Agency's plans and new areas of activity:

"The Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency will form investment proposals as part of the creation of industrial clusters in the region. In addition, the Agency will structure offset contracts, where the region is the guarantor of the sale of the investor's products to a state or municipal customer; the formation of a regional cluster investment platform that will allow the investment project to receive all the necessary support measures without preparing any additional documents; the development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region," said Evgeny Kovtun.
