In the period from December 23 to December 30, 2016 and from January 3 to January 8, 2017, a New Year's fair will be held at the regional Expocenter and at the outdoor area (ul. 70 let Oktyabrya 25/5). According to the organizers, specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk Region and the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency, it will be possible to buy frozen berries, vegetables, fish, meat, poultry "on the street", and processed agricultural products from local producers and handicrafts in the pavilion. In the exhibition hall of Expocentre it will be possible to buy souvenirs and New Year's gifts, take part in competitive and entertainment programs for children and adults.
According to Konstantin Tsyplenkov, head of the Processing and Commodity Market Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk region, outdoor retail spaces are provided free of charge for farmers, owners of private subsidiary farms, and individual entrepreneurs who are ready to provide fresh and high-quality products for the New Year's table. Provincial fairs will be held in all city markets on the last weekend of the year.
In January-November of this year, 712 Provincial fairs of products worth more than 346 million rubles were held at retail markets in Omsk as part of the Provincial Agricultural Fair. 20 days of municipal districts were held with the participation of musical groups.
Fair trade is organized in all municipal districts of the Omsk region. Fairs are held weekly in most areas. Retail outlets for the sale of food products are provided on a preferential (free of charge) basis.
According to the municipal districts, 2,820 weekend fairs were held in January-November of this year. Products worth more than 750 million rubles were sold.
