The construction of infrastructure at the Vostochny cosmodrome for the Angara launch vehicle will begin in 2018.

The federal target program for the development of cosmodromes has been submitted to the Russian Government for consideration.

Igor Komarov, the head of the Roscosmos state corporation, in an interview with TASS, spoke about the prospects of Russian cosmonautics until 2025. According to him, the Federal target Program for the development of Vostochny and Plesetsk cosmodromes and the implementation of some measures at Baikonur, providing for the allocation of 340 billion rubles, has been sent to the Government of the Russian Federation for consideration. In mid-September, the contractor for the construction of the second stage of the Vostochny cosmodrome will be named.

"We had agreements with the Ministry of Defense that in the second half of September, our colleagues would present a candidate company that would build a launch pad for the Angara launch vehicle. A program for the development of spaceports will be approved in the near future. Thus, we hope that its financing will begin by the end of October," Igor Komarov said.

According to experts, the construction of the infrastructure for the Angara launch vehicle will begin in 2018 after the approval of the design documentation. Roscosmos plans to launch an Angara superheavy class rocket from the Vostochny cosmodrome in 2021.

The assembly of universal rocket modules (UTMs) for Angara launch vehicles of all classes will be carried out at the Omsk Polet production association, part of the Khrunichev Space Center. The basis for creating variants of Angara launch vehicles are the environmentally friendly oxygen-kerosene rocket modules UTM-1 (for the first and second stages) and UTM-2 - for the upper stages of launch vehicles. The Flight software will have a workshop for the final assembly of the UMR, equipped in accordance with modern requirements.
