Students of Omsk Polytechnic University will propose projects to improve the tourist potential of the Muromtsevsky district

On September 22, 2024, the two-day student expedition "Five Lakes: Facts, Legends, Stories and Mysteries" ended. Students of Omsk Polytechnic University from various fields of study got acquainted with the ecosystem of tourism, investment potential, nature, history and folklore of the Muromtsevsky municipal district of the Omsk region.

The expedition was initiated and supported by the Government of the Omsk Region, the regional Ministries of Culture, the Ministry of Education, and the Administration of the Muromtsevsky district.

On the first day of the expedition, the participants settled into cabins on the territory of one of the oldest recreation areas "Artyn". Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, held an installation session for the children, where they could get to know each other, tell about themselves, their interests and plans for the future. The students also managed to gather firewood, sit around the campfire, bake potatoes and sing hiking songs.

On the second day, the participants of the expedition had a rich program. The guys went along the most famous tourist routes of the Muromtsevsky district, visiting such locations as Lakes Shchuchye, Lenevo, Danilovo.

The delegation led by the deputy chairman of the regional Government Andrey Shpilenko visited the regional center - Muromtsevo. Vyacheslav Devetyarikov, the head of the municipal district, conducted a tour of the district and the village of Petropavlovsk. The participants visited an ancient industrial tourism facility in the Omsk region, a distillery. At the moment, folk festivals, ethnocultural festivals, craft exhibitions and Village Day are being held in the distillery's clearing.

As part of the tour, we visited the recreation centers "Silver Coast", "Igorevskie Dali" and the biathlon center, which is a training sports base. Muromtsevsky district is the biathlon mecca of the Omsk region. Vladimir Barnashov, Vladimir Anisimov, Maria Demidova, and Yana Romanova worked, trained, grew up, and achieved regional and international victories here. The participants assessed the quality of the service, infrastructure and prospects for the development of the territories in order to attract investment and increase the tourist flow.

The final stage of the day was a visit to the most mysterious of the five lakes of the Muromtsevo district - Lake Shaitan. According to local legends, it is under the waters of this lake that the famous temple of the god Hanuman is hidden and a powerful place of power is located. In the evening, at the base, we discussed with the guys their route and the locations they visited, each named the pros and cons, and made suggestions for developing the tourist potential of the area.

On the final day of the expedition, the participants visited the Muromtsevo Museum of Local Lore, where they got acquainted with the richest material and spiritual culture of the ancient and modern history of the region. The museum's archaeological exposition covers the period from the Late Neolithic era to the XVIII century A.D. The fund contains more than 15,000 objects, including a unique paleontological collection. So, the guys learned that woolly mammoths, rhinoceroses and the Siberian unicorn elasmotherium used to walk through the lands of the Muromtsevsky district.

The main event of the final day was a trip to the village of Okunevo. The village is known to tourists from all over the world and has long been a place of pilgrimage for connoisseurs of esotericism. It is associated with many phenomena, myths, legends, riddles and stories. It is believed that Okunevo is the "navel of the Earth" - the center of the whole world.

"The expedition filled the children with new knowledge and became an important part of their educational process. The guys talked about ideas for the development of the hospitality infrastructure in the area. I am looking forward to their suggestions and projects at the upcoming forum "Rest! Omsk — 2024». The students will present their work to the Governor of the Omsk Region, Vitaly Khotsenko, and the Forum, in turn, will act as the main platform for discussing opportunities to improve the tourism potential of our region," said Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region.
