According to Omskstat, in July 2017, the situation in the consumer market of the Omsk region was characterized by a decrease in the average price level by 0.1 percent. The main impact was a decrease in food prices (by 1.2%). Price reductions were registered for almost all vegetables and fruits. The prices for cabbage decreased the most - by 61.4 percent. Fresh cucumbers also fell in price by 26.7 percent, tomatoes by 23.4 percent, potatoes by 19.7 percent, and beets by 13.2 percent. The decrease in fruit prices ranged from 0.2 to 26.6 percent. In the range of 0.9 to 3.1 percent, chicken eggs, pasteurized milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, buckwheat and semolina, boiled sausages fell in price. Of the observed types of fruit and vegetable products, price increases were registered for carrots (by 22.9%), onions (by 16.3%) and apples (by 3.7%).
The non-food market in July, as in the previous month, was characterized by low inflation (+0.1%). On the eve of the new school year, school supplies began to rise in price - by an average of 2.1 percent, clothes for school-age children – by 1 percent.
