Omsk discussed the possibility of creating a cluster for the processing of ash and slag waste

Today, on December 6, the Omsk Regional Expocenter hosted a meeting of the working group on the use of ash and slag waste in the production of building materials.

The meeting was attended by representatives of executive authorities and the management of Omsk companies, as well as persons interested in the development of this area in the region.

"The Agency has been contacted by enterprises interested in forming a scientific and industrial cluster for the use and processing of ash and slag waste in the Siberian Federal District. Therefore, we have gathered you today to make a decision and, based on the relevant prerequisites, discuss the prospects for creating a cluster," Vadim Savitsky, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency, greeted the audience.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects of creating a scientific and industrial cluster for the use and processing of ash and slag waste in the Siberian Federal District on the basis of enterprises of the Osnova Holding Group of companies, JSC TGC-11, Siberian State Automobile and Road Academy, Omsk State Agrarian University named after P.A. Stolypin.

The regional ministries supported the companies' initiative and expressed their willingness to provide all possible assistance. According to Tatyana Samigulova, Head of the Department for Improving Economic Competitiveness and Developing Priority Clusters of the Department for Priority Regional Development of the Ministry of Economy of the Omsk Region, the creation and development of clusters is one of the key areas for stimulating economic development in the Omsk region in accordance with the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Omsk Region until 2025. She notes that financial support is provided for clusters at the federal level. To attract it, it is necessary to fulfill a number of requirements stipulated by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 31, 2015 No. 779.

The Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency is ready to support enterprises in forming a cluster.

"Industrial clusters are one of the tools of territorial development, so the Agency, of course, is interested in this type of cooperation between enterprises, and is ready to assist in its formation.",- notes Vadim Savitsky.
