Omsk has more than 30 specialists in the organization of industrial tourism

Today, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk region Andrey Shpilenko solemnly presented the participants of the regional team for the development of industrial tourism with certificates of advanced training in the program of additional professional education "Organization of industrial tourism".

The All-Russian educational program "Open Industry" was held for the third time under the auspices of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Center for Tourism and Hospitality Competencies with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

The Omsk Region has been actively developing industrial tourism since last year. A regional team has been created, which includes representatives of advanced industrial enterprises, executive authorities, public organizations and unions, universities, tour operators, guides and guides. The application for participation in the accelerator, prepared by the Omsk Region team, was among the top three out of 65 regions of the Russian Federation.  The team consists of 12 large enterprises of the region, engaged in the food, agricultural, chemical, machine-building, and electric power industries.

"We went through a unique school with you. Now, as specialists in the organization of industrial tourism, you are ready to create a positive image of the region and industrial enterprises, attract young people and invest in their minds that industrial professions are prestigious and interesting. Together, we will continue to promote the industrial route and develop a fundamental document - the strategy for the development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region. We will monitor government support measures in terms of industrial tourism. And together with specialists and students of Omsk Polytechnic University, we will go on a large expedition to the Muromtsevsky district to study and develop the tourist potential of the region," said Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region.

So, within six months, the participants of the regional team studied 6 educational modules. Over the course of 160 hours, more than 30 accelerator speakers shared knowledge about the development of an industrial excursion route, analytics and trends in domestic tourism, described evaluation criteria and rules for developing a safe route, how to create an industrial tourism experience, and shared successful practices in Russian regions for the development of industrial tourism.

It should be noted that the result of participation in the educational program was the development and launch of the first industrial route "Industry of Siberia – the Greatness of Russia", which was presented in February 2024 as part of the field internship of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia "Federal Practice". The route is based on several time milestones, and the goal is to show the relationship between history and modernity, cultural and industrial traditions of the Omsk region.
