A business breakfast of heads of business support structures with representatives of the media was held at the site of the regional Congress Hall. The event, held in the format of an open dialogue, was dedicated to introducing journalists to the activities of key development institutions that form the economic and investment ecosystem of the region.
Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, welcomed the participants. Together with the heads of institutions, he introduced five key organizations designed to strengthen the economic potential of the region.
"It is important for us that the journalistic community receives reliable and professional first-hand information. That is why we decided to hold a meeting in the format of a live conversation and introduce the media to people who are engaged in the daily development of the investment and economic potential of the Omsk region," said Andrey Shpilenko.
Media representatives were told about the work of development institutions, business support mechanisms, attracting investments, supporting investment projects, developing industry, exports and the creative economy of the region. During the meeting, the following structures were presented: the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency, the Avangard SEZ, the regional Industrial Development Fund, the Export Support Center and the Center for Creative Industries.
The journalists were reminded that the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency is a body authorized by the regional government to attract investments and provide comprehensive project support on a one–stop-shop basis.
"One of the key activities of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency is to attract private investment. Today, we are positioning the region as a territory of opportunity. We form investment proposals for businesses: at the moment, more than 80 investment areas have been developed in the region. The Agency acts as a "single window" and a guide for investors: they come to us with an idea, and we help them form a project, select a site, obtain technical specifications and put the facility into operation," Svetlana Bazhenova, the Agency's general Director, told reporters.
Further, the participants discussed the prospects for further development of the investment, industrial and creative ecosystem of the Omsk region, as well as issues of interaction between government authorities, development institutions and the media.
The meeting was held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, allowing the journalists to obtain comprehensive primary information about the points of growth of the regional economy.
