Omsk will host a city competition of professional skills for welders
On May 31, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., VELTA holds the 4th city professional skills competition - "The best by profession in the Welder nomination." The competition is one of the steps taken by the company to implement personnel policy in the region.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Scientific and Technical Development of the Omsk Region, the Omsk Regional Branch of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Omsk Region.
The leading enterprises of the Omsk region will take part in the competition: OMO named after P.I. Baranov, PO Polet, Sibmetall-Omsk, ONIIP, Omsktransmash, Sibgazstroydetal, NTK Cryogenic Equipment, PO VELTA.
The competition is held in two categories: the best by profession in the Welder category and the special prize "Young Professionals". The competition tasks were developed with the participation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science (Welding section) of OmSTU. Special attention will be paid to students of secondary schools in Omsk, whose students will participate in a separate nomination. The best will be offered internships at leading Omsk industrial enterprises. In the format of an "open dialogue", employers will answer students' questions. In addition to the competition program, an exhibition of technical innovations and accessories for welding production from domestic manufacturing companies will be organized for participants and visitors of the competition.
"The holding of this competition carries a high social significance and contributes to the popularization of the welding profession, increases the popularity of working professions among the population of the Omsk region. It unites the best industrial enterprises of the Omsk region under its auspices. A distinctive feature of the competition in 2024 is following the import substitution line - absolutely all welding machines, equipment and products presented in the EXPO zone are Russian–made," the company noted.
It should be noted that the production association "VELTA" has a proactive position. The company is a participant of the national project "Labor Productivity". Together with experts from the Federal Competence Center, the company's working group managed to optimize the production of low-voltage complete devices and become a reference. The process time has decreased by more than 7%, and the time to search for parts due to the transparent storage system has decreased by more than 60%. The company is also part of the regional team for the development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region. "VELTA" is one of the points of the route where industrial tourists are told and shown the working processes for the production of electrical equipment.
