The IV Forum of heads of regions of the SCO countries has started in Omsk
The forum is attended by more than 500 people from 11 countries, including delegations from 15 regions of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and India.
Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko and Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Valeryevich Volvach discussed the agenda of the event, which includes youth cooperation, strengthening international ties, prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as the development of logistics routes in the SCO space. Vitaly Khotsenko expressed confidence that a number of decisions and proposals to be adopted at the SCO Regional Heads' Forum in Omsk would be among the priorities of the Russian presidency of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
On September 17, the work of the SCO inter-regional cooperation platform started in the Omsk region. The first day is dedicated to industrial cooperation between the regions of the SCO countries and is aimed at strengthening interregional cooperation, supporting investments and ties, and increasing the level of industrial cooperation. Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, will participate in the plenary session. The entrepreneurs will discuss opportunities for cooperation on the contact exchange.
"This is the fourth Forum of heads of regions of the SCO countries, but it is the first time it has been held on such a scale. Guests from foreign countries had the opportunity to make new useful acquaintances, strengthen ties between regions, and conclude mutually beneficial contracts," said Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia. – This event provides an opportunity to develop contacts not only at the government level, but also to support business initiatives that contribute to increasing investment, trade, technology adoption and strengthening the labor market. Because it is in the regions that projects are being directly implemented, jobs are being created, and local issues are being resolved that stimulate the development of specific industries: road infrastructure, transport, logistics, industry, agriculture, and tourism," said Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
"Omsk has become a venue for a significant international event - the IV Forum of Heads of Regions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. Together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, we have prepared not only an up-to-date agenda, but also tried to make the program of the guests' stay interesting so that they would learn what Omsk is, what Siberia is. The program will be intense. The Omsk Region is ready to act as a venue for major events, forums, and conferences under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in the future.",- said the Governor Vitaly Khotsenko.
