The implementation of the municipal investment standard has begun in the Omsk region
Omsk Region is successfully implementing elements of the Municipal Investment Standard in the region. The Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency has signed agreements with the Omsk City Administration and 32 municipalities. The purpose of the agreements is to create favorable conditions for the implementation of investment projects and increase the investment attractiveness of municipalities.
It should be noted that the municipal investment standard (hereinafter referred to as the IIA) is a continuation of the Reginveststandard and is designed to streamline work with investors on the ground. The IIA includes a structured set of documents regulating procedures for supporting the planning and implementation of investment projects, coordinating the activities of local governments in the provision of municipal services, and promoting investment opportunities and projects of the municipality.
As part of the implementation of the IIA, the Agency has concluded cooperation agreements with the Omsk City Administration and municipalities for more effective interconnection: it helps to form investment profiles of each district, assists in preparing investment proposals and attracting investors to implement projects in municipal districts, and posts up-to-date information on the potential of municipalities on the Omsk Region Investment Portal.
"The introduction of the municipal investment standard will expand the boundaries and prospects for the development of municipalities in the Omsk region in the field of socio-economic and investment activities. This mechanism helps to establish equal rights to carry out investment activities and improves investor interaction with authorities and resource supply organizations, which is important for investors who want to invest their money in promising projects and choose sites for their implementation," said Evgeny Kovtun, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
