The Omsk Region discussed the implementation of a new green energy investment project

A working meeting on the implementation of a solar power plant construction project with a total investment of more than 2 billion rubles was held today at the regional Congress Hall.

As part of the review of the new project by the regional Development and Investment Agency, problems requiring prompt resolution have been identified.

The meeting was led by Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government, with the participation of representatives of the regional Ministry of Property Relations, the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, the Omsk City Administration and the Regional Development and Investment Agency.

The investor of the project is Renewable Energy South LLC, which already has successful experience in the region. With the assistance of the Agency for Development and Investment, the company previously commissioned two solar power plants in Novovarshavsky and Russian-Polyansky districts. The total volume of investments in these facilities amounted to 4.8 billion rubles. Each of the SES has an installed capacity of 30 MW and is capable of generating about 35.5 million kWh of electricity per year.

"The implementation of projects for the construction of solar generation will improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the region, reduce losses in the power grid, and will also contribute to the preservation of the environment and the achievement of the region's sustainable development goals. The Government of the Omsk Region is monitoring the issues faced by the investor and will help to eliminate them. Our goal is to ensure the timely commissioning of the facility so that the region can experience the positive effects of this project in the near future," said Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government.

"A direct dialogue between the investor and all responsible departments allows us to quickly remove administrative barriers, synchronize efforts and keep abreast of the pulse. This is our key task — to provide the investor with comfortable working conditions, turning the plans into real operating facilities that benefit the economy and ecology of the Omsk region," said Svetlana Bazhenova, General Director of the Omsk Region Development and Investment Agency.
