In the Omsk region, lean manufacturing tools are used in the manufacture of confectionery products
With the targeted support of experts from the Regional Competence Center of the Omsk Region, innovations were introduced at the marshmallow production site within the framework of the national Labor Productivity project.
The Lacoche confectionery factory managed to reduce the production time of one thousand kilograms of marshmallows by 9 hours and 40 minutes.
The results of the six months of the project implementation were summed up at the production site in Maryanovsky district. The company produces whipped confectionery products. Lean manufacturing tools were introduced at the marshmallow production site.
The experts of the Regional Competence Center of the Omsk region, together with the management and employees of the enterprise, managed to increase the production of marshmallows per worker by 10%.
"At the project launch stage, the working group of the LakoSh confectionery factory, together with RCC experts, assessed the effectiveness of current processes and identified bottlenecks and growth points. Based on the results of the audit, the group worked to increase the speed in the drying, dusting and packaging areas. The areas of syrup preparation, whipping and jigging were not ignored. The whole team worked to reduce downtime for both personnel and equipment," said Vadim Shulgat, RCC Project Manager.
The working Group drew up an action plan to achieve the project goals and carried out standardized work. Standards for comfortable and safe workplaces according to the 5C system have been developed at the reference site, production analysis for identifying and solving problems has been implemented, and three internal trainers on basic lean manufacturing tools have also been trained and certified.
The next stage of the national project implementation at the enterprise will be the "Replication" stage. The employees of the confectionery factory will draw up a plan for further work to increase labor productivity at all production sites, spreading the positive experience that was achieved during the active phase at the pilot site. Overall, the project will last for another 2.5 years.
