Omsk region introduces new economic instrument to support local industry

The event is included in the Regional Development Budget and is scheduled for implementation in 2018. On Wednesday, at a meeting of the regional Cabinet of Ministers, it was decided to make appropriate changes to the Omsk Region's state industrial development program. Subsidies with a financing volume of 100 million rubles are planned to be used to develop infrastructure and stimulate investment activities of industrial enterprises. Part of the costs of providing infrastructure for manufacturing facilities will be reimbursed from the regional budget. The new support tool is designed to encourage Omsk enterprises to invest in their own development and the creation of new production facilities.

"This document is extremely important," said Valery Boyko, First Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. – The Omsk industry development program was adopted four years ago without a penny for support. There are already two items in the regional development budget. This is 80 million rubles for the creation of an Industrial Development Fund for the Omsk region and 100 million rubles for the infrastructural development of enterprises, primarily the manufacturing industry widely represented in the region."

This decision will entail a reduction in the infrastructure costs of industrialists in the implementation of investment projects, an increase in the tax base, and the creation of new jobs.

"Priority will be given to those projects aimed at import substitution and increasing the export potential of the Omsk region, introducing advanced industrial technologies and increasing the level of cooperation. This support measure was made possible by the adoption of the regional development budget by the decision of Acting Governor Alexander Burkov," said Igor Lukyanov, Deputy Minister of Industry, Transport and Innovative Technologies.

Subsidies are planned to be provided on a competitive basis. For the practical implementation of the new support measure, it is necessary to prepare a package of legal acts, including the procedure for granting subsidies.
