Vitaliy Khotsenko: Flax growers in the northern regions have been provided with a budget subsidy

The Governor of the Omsk region reported on the adopted measure of support for agricultural producers growing flax.

"We have decided to grant subsidies to local flax producers. We have provided about 40 million rubles in the budget for these purposes within the framework of the concept of development of our northern regions," said Vitaly Khotsenko. - Flax is grown in our region by about 10 producers in Bolsheukovsky, Znamensky and Muromtsevsky districts. The products of flax growers in the region are supplied not only to local factories, but also to enterprises in the Novosibirsk, Kursk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The direction is important - we will support it."

The support will be provided to finance the costs of 1 hectare of the planned acreage by farmers. This year, flax growers plan to sow 5,300 hectares. The main condition for receiving support is the mandatory use of fertilizers in the production of flax.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk region Andrey Shpilenko and Director General of the Regional Agency for Development and Investment Evgeny Kovtun held a series of field meetings in the northern municipal districts of the Omsk region with district heads, representatives of local administrations and heads of agribusiness on the implementation of investment projects for deep processing of flax. The Agency's specialists have developed 4 investment scenarios for the possible implementation of the project, as well as conducted financial monitoring.
